Do you have any medical conditions?, September 20, 2011

Huh. When I bought this item, it was sold by Amazon, but apparently it’s not now. So you can’t see the old customer reviews anymore.

I’m giving this product 4 stars because it is a good product for the price. If it were more expensive, I would give it less stars, only because it’s very basic. The foot baths that are more expensive probably have more bells and whistles, which might be nice to have, but I don’t think you really need it. At the end of the day, they’re all tubs for water with bubbles. Of course, if money is no object, then get whichever one you want.

Mine works fine. If you’ve never tried a foot bath appliance, and you’re considering it, go for it. Even a simple one like this feels soooooooo good. It relaxes your whole body.

This one has bubbles and “heat”. I put heat in quotations because 1) It doesn’t heat up the water itself, the water has to be hot before you put it in, and 2) It’s supposed to maintain the water temperature, but I haven’t noticed it doing that. The water seems to cool down as quickly as if there were no heating element. But it doesn’t matter that much, because you don’t typically use it very long. The manual says you should only use it for 10-15 minutes at a time.

There are numerous medical conditions for which the use of this product is contraindicated!!! I don’t think that fact is listed in the product description on Amazon, but it really should be. The ones mentioned in the manual are: diabetes, tuberculosis, benign or malignant tumors, phlebitis or thrombosis, hemorrhages, open or fresh wounds, ulcerated sores, varicose veins, poor circulation or bruised, discolored, burned, broken, swollen or inflamed skin. OK, a lot of those you could probably figure out on your own, but still. Another obvious one is if you have numbness in your feet. You should consult your doctor before using if you have: a pacemaker, cancer, infection, fracture, persistent pain or if you are pregnant.

I hope you liked my review. Serenity now!

i advise to add WARM / HOT water, November 28, 2011

*** UPDATE ON REVIEW *** (see bottom)-

The directions say add warm or cold water? Who wants a foot massage with cold water? I got my Conair foot bath from WalMart. (not Amazon). Its OK. The bubbles provide a BIT of relaxation. The directions say the heater is not meant to “heat” the water, but merely keep it warm. So my advice. add water hot enough to your liking and sit back with a glass of wine for 15 minutes.
Im going to try it again with Epsom salts. I’m sure there are BETTER massagers out there. But for the price. its not bad.

** UPDATE ON REVIEW ** – i returned it after 2 weeks and here is why. I tried it nearly EVERY DAY for 2 weeks (to give it a fair opinion). and honestly. i get just as much (if not more) pleasure running my feet under the hot faucet in the bathtub. it does not massage at all. it provides SOME bubbles. that’s it. its a pain to fill up and carry thru the living room. and its big. i know i will tire of soon it and it will ultimately end up in a closet. I’m returning it to this week and i’m going to buy a humidifier with the money. To me, It’s a “NOVELTY GIFT”. something you get for Christmas along with Christmas sweaters you wear once and put in the closet.

    Foot Bath with Bubbles and Heat . . ., November 7, 2011

This is not a bad product. It’s quiet enough you could hear the TV/Stereo/Bose even the baby monitor while in the next room.
The down sid eit doesn’t keep the water hot long enough like bath water in the tub/shower.
Another down side is the built in massagers…best to use with soft wash cloths laid over top of the stabby needles.
The directions aren’t clear onough either; whether epsom salts can be put in the bubbly/heated water for soaking treatment. Well i reached the right corp. and it is not recommended to not use aany type of solvent while using /soaking in Conairs’
foot bath, bubbles and heat and just to use plain water out from the tap.
Other than that, I’m happy with it. Put a double (folded cloth) over the plastic needles and let the Conair do the rest of the work.
I hope you enjoy Conair foot bath with Bubbles & Heat.
    AHHH! Happy Soaking . . .
    It arrived right on schedule.
    Thanks for reading.
