Lending A Healing Hand
In 2023, the Massage Envy brand funded ten $10,000 grants to massage therapy schools for a total of $100,000. These grants are intended to help institutions attract, train, and graduate future generations of highly qualified massage therapists. “As the leader in the massage therapy industry, Massage Envy wants to give back by doing something that can change people’s lives and will continue to help this great profession move forward,” said Beth Stiller, Massage Envy Franchising CEO. In addition to giving back to schools, the Massage Envy brand is committed to helping bright scholars on the road to becoming massage therapists. Under the Massage Envy Scholarship for Massage Therapists Sweepstakes*, $2,500 scholarships were awarded to 96 students in 2023 for a total of $240,000. “Being selected for this scholarship has been a huge blessing for me financially,” said Tahj J., one of the scholarship winners. “It has allowed me to focus more on my schooling and my profession instead of having financial worries. This has allowed me to have more freedom and to improve my work-life balance tremendously.”
In addition to giving back to the massage profession, the Massage Envy brand believes in lending a healing hand to fellow neighbors. For the second year in a row, Massage Envy participated in Glamour Gals’ My Dear Friend holiday letter-writing campaign. The mission of the GlamourGals foundation is to make isolated seniors feel loved by connecting them with teen volunteers. Throughout the My Dear Friend campaign, a total of 14,000 holiday cards were submitted from 31 states via the Massage Envy page, and in addition, Massage Envy donated $15,000 to the GlamourGals foundation. Massage Envy Franchising CEO Beth Stiller expressed, “Massage Envy is dedicated to enriching the lives of people of all ages through wellness and self-care. The Massage Envy brand believes that development, learning, and growth are worth investing in, which is why every year more than 20 continuing education courses are offered free of charge to massage therapists employed at Massage Envy franchised locations. In 2023, over 4,000 courses were completed for a total of more than 8,900 credit hours. In addition to encouraging professional growth, Massage Envy franchisees strive to cultivate a nurturing environment that invests in employees’ success and recognizes their contributions. One meaningful way to accomplish this is through the brand’s national awards program. In 2023, 36 Regional Therapists of the Year and one National Therapist of the Year were recognized and celebrated at the Massage Envy Annual Summit in Denver, Colorado.
Progressing into the Future
In 2024, Massage Envy will continue to foster connections with students, schools, and individuals both inside and outside the massage profession. Ten more schools will be awarded $10,000 each in 2024 through the school grant program funded by Massage Envy. Eight massage therapy students will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship every month in 2024 under the Massage Envy Scholarship for Massage Therapists Sweepstakes*, for a total of 96 winners throughout the year. Massage therapists employed at franchised locations will continue to be celebrated and invested in, and enjoy access to advantages such as free continuing education courses, a self-care program, an employee assistance program, and more. Additionally, massage therapists will continue to be recognized and appreciated for their efforts. This year’s Massage Envy Annual Performance Summit will take place March 24–27 in Nashville, TN, where 36 more Regional Therapist of the Year winners and another National Therapist of the Year will be celebrated. In addition to the awards ceremony, this incredible annual four-day event also features multiple workshops, panel sessions, and opportunities to network and socialize with other caring professionals who share the same passion for wellness.
